ABOUT
Welcome to the second edition of GEOPerspectives International Conference, hosted by the Faculty of Geography – University of Bucharest
Our planet is changing faster than at any point in human history – coastlines retreat, climates shift, landscapes and societies are being reshaped in real time. Geography sits exactly where these forces meet. It is the discipline that reads the land, the water, the climate, and the people together, and makes sense of how they move as one system.
GEOPerspectives brings that conversation to Bucharest. Now in its second edition, the conference is a scientific and professional platform where established scholars, academic staff, and early-career researchers meet to share findings, test ideas, and build the collaborations that carry our fields forward.
Over two days, we set out to debate the questions defining our time – the interaction between humans and nature, the challenges facing environment and society, and the pursuit of sustainable development across geographical space. We welcome work spanning climate and landscape change, geomorphological, demographic, and social transformations, and new directions in the teaching of geography.
If you study how the world is changing – and how we understand, map, and respond to it – this is your platform. Join us in Bucharest.
